However we did notice it was very warm at the back, which could be a problem in hotter rooms.

Despite being a classic compressor model, the Swan is surprisingly quiet for its size. We measured it at a fairly moderate 42dB when it was running. It is considerably quieter than models made 10 years ago, and also quieter than the majority of refrigerator freezers on our Best Buy chart.
cheap retro fridge freezer had good temperature stability. The top, middle and bottom shelves all had an average temperature that was within a couple of degrees either way of the maximum temperature. The salad drawer was more variable, oscillating between 5oC and just under freezing.
The fridge also requires manual defrosting from time to time, however it is rated as A+ in energy efficiency. This makes it one of the most efficient refrigerator freezers on our Best Buy chart, keeping your electric bills to a minimum.
